Director for Training & Service Delivery Improvement (TSDI) Geographic focus: Global

General Position Description

This senior management position, which reports directly to and collaborates with the Vice President for TSDI, informs strategic vision, and has functional and/or direct responsibility for the design and implementation of

global strategies to increase women's access to sustainable high-quality sexual and reproductive health care services. These strategies include cutting-edge, state-of the-art clinical training and technical assistance approaches to improve the quality of clinical services. In collaboration with the Vice President for TSDI, the Director envisions, plans and oversees

implementation of a strategy for promoting universal local access to services globally and especially in the developing world and developing and managing partnerships with colleague agencies to further the organization's mission.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

· Strategically develop, oversee implementation, and assess completion of

Training and Service Delivery Improvement unit objectives, budget and work-plan.
· Oversee the development, implementation and on-going assessment of
Ipas'
technical leadership in clinical training tools and programs
· Oversee the development, implementation and on-going assessment of
Ipas'
clinical service delivery improvement programs and tools
· Supervise the Training & Service Delivery Improvement staff
· Ensure technical liaison and back-up in training & service delivery
improvement to all of Ipas' focus country teams

Core Requirements

· Demonstrated leadership capabilities
· 10+ years international experience
· An advanced degree in a relevant scientific or business discipline
· Expertise in training and performance improvement approaches
· Proven management and supervisory skills and ability/willingness to
work
as part of a team.
· Ability to travel domestically and internationally, usually not to
exceed 30% of total working days per year.
· Effectively act as spokesperson for Ipas with donors, collegial
organizations and in other situations as needed
· Effective communication skills to successfully conduct Ipas business
· Ability to use a telephone and personal computer, incorporating a
variety of software applications.
· Fluency in written and spoken English
· Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
