PAPUA NEW GUINEA WOMEN’S AND CHILDREN’S HEALTH PROJECT
TRAINING ADVISOR (1 - 2 years)

International Development Support Services (IDSS), a subsidiary of Oxfam-Community Aid Abroad, manages a range of projects in the international development sector. Our health portfolio includes the AusAID funded Papua New Guinea Women’s and Children’s Health Project, which requires a Training Advisor.

The Advisor will be responsible for implementation of the Project Training program and the provision of technical advice and support for strengthening health worker in-service training programs in reproductive and child health. This will include working in close cooperation with counterparts at national, provincial and district level, and in particular with the Human Resources Branch of the National Department of Health to develop and implement strategies for the establishment and institutionalisation of ongoing in-service training programs.

Qualifications in Health, Education and Training of Trainers combined with current or recent midwifery practical experience and in-service training are essential. Preference will be given to applicants with previous developing country or indigenous Australia experience. Post graduate qualifications in Public Health, Child Health or Reproductive Health will be advantageous.
