"Aller Anfang"
Exhibition about Pregnancy and Birth

Austrian Museum of Folk Live and Folk Art, Laudongasse 15-19, A1080 Wien

From April 10 to October 6 2002 there will be an exhibition about pregnancy and birth at the Austrian Museum of Folk Live and Folk Art in Vienna. For the first time you will have the opportunity to see objects and pictures connected with these themes from different times and different cultures, from ethnological, classical and modern art, history and the media.
The 26th ICM Congress is the occasion of this extraordinary exhibition, which will highten the public interest for midwifery and childbirth. The red thread through the exhibition is: what kind of views about birth can be found in different times and cultures, what can be seen and what is hidden? What are the big changes in the roles in and conceptions around childbirth?
Before, during and after the Congress there will be special guided tours for Congress delegates and accompanying persons. Don't forget to plan some time to visit this exhibition in the heart of Vienna in a museum which also shows much about Austrian and Viennese history. http://www.icm-congress.com/exhibition.html
